Zayed higher organization for humanitarian services in Abu Dhabi , is supported by Abu Dhabi government, this organization that give community and humanitarian services to the special needs students to let them earn skills to become and an active member in our community or productive people in our community by let them join some workshop. I volunteer in ZHO for 5 week, in this 5 weeks I keep changing the workshops every week, and every week I meet new people from students and instructors.

The best part of volunteering to me, is the putting smiles in the special needs faces that make very happy because that make feel that I did something very great to somebody and they like to meet new people every day, and during my volunteering I faced some funny moment in the organization is unforgettable moment to me and I wish to have more than 5 weeks in my volunteering.

Volunteering in ZHO to me is supporting the community, because I am not asking for payment in the end of my volunteering ,plus I add one more week and that’s  make feel I am  supporting my community and giving my hand to help people , and the special needs people are part of our community and they need some special care because I consider they are part of our Emirati community.

I learned a lot of things during my volunteering in zayed higher organization it was a great experience to me , I learned the special needs people are a productive people they can produce something and they can sale it and make profit and also they have the ability to learn something new every day , also they like to communicate with new people every day so they are social people, and the organization try to make them feel happy by taking them trip in some places in abu dhabi.

In conclusion, I hope to volunteer again to improve my skills and meet also my special needs friends and the instructors and volunteer more time than I did .

WEEK #5 (LAST WEEK) ZHO

WEEK #5 (LAST WEEK)

The last week was amazing week in ZHO, I joined two deferent workshops and we started to learn something new, the first workshop was office skills, this workshop make the students do some basic office work and it simple just like make copy of papers, use computers and make files, the second workshop is texture workshop , this workshop is have a productive students they making some products such like bracelet and scarfs and they are preparing to produce a lot for national day and planning for expo 2020 .In the end of the day I made some short  interview with Mr. Thomas about his work and his skills that can he provide to the ZHO . I enjoyed working in ZHO I hope I can make another visit to the teachers and to the students because I made a lot of friends from the students and staffs .

WEEK 4 IN ZHO

week 4 in ZHO

The fourth week was special week of my day work, because it was the UAE Flag Day in ZHO in 3rd of November but before that I joined new workshops, the first one is packing with instructor Mr.mohammed almarzooqi he is the teacher of the class he teach the student something is very simple to me but very difficult for them and they have the ability to learn it by practicing , the good thing about mr.mohammed is a patina person to the studens . mr.muhammed showed me what the workshop do , they packing the all products that come out from other workshops and after that to the market, and some of the students have a talent of panting and that’s impressed me , I believe these student will benefit there community , and the second workshop is the   vocational rehabilitation this workshop have new students, some of them is intractable cases but what I like about this workshop is the instructors are very patient to the students and they have great skills and attitude to deal with students  , the instructor ask me to take one of the students to flag squire and his name was Saud  , in moment we become friend , we have little chat with him  he use wheel chair for move place to another ,then we came to the flag squire and sheik khaled bin zayed came to raise the flag. In conclusion I enjoyed this day it was very special day In Zayed Higher Organization.

3RD WEEK IN ZHO

3^rd WEEK

In 3^rd week in Zayed Higher Organization I joined a new workshops the first one is carpentry 1 , this work teach the student about the basic technique in carpentry, once I joined the class the instructors told me to communicate with the students because they feel happy to meet new people and also give them  self-confidence and give them push to work hard, the important thing is to keep communicate with the students encourage them to keep working  and the second workshop I joined forging workshop , students welding the steels under the supervision of teacher , but when the student stop working they have a chatting every student tell where he live and what cars they have in his house the activity they like to do after the they finish work and what they do at the weekend  some of them they go to beach other go to desert . in the end I enjoyed this week and I hope that I gave something useful to the students  during the period of voluntary.

2^ND WEEK IN ZHO 20/10/2015

In the second week of my volunteering in Zayed higher organization I went to two workshop , the first period I joined the electronic department , I was impressed about this department because I found out the students are Producers people which they produce allot of electronic stuff and they have the ability to learn something new , the products that they produced are electric board and Electrical Multi-Outlets, and regarding to electric multi-outlets the students produce about 200 electric multi-outlets and most of it are sold to the consumer . the instructor of this department is Mr. Muhammad, is a good teacher and he teach me how to treat the students in the class and outside the class , and he is working on new project so the student can produce something new which is making internet cable but still in in the progress to find the perfect why  to teach them .  

And in the second period I joined Electromechanical department with instructor Mr. Muntasir, he is the teacher of this class and he showed me what this department do what activities the students do and learn in this department and I was impressed by the students , they know something that I don’t know, some of the student showed me how this is work the electric stuff and I found it little bit complicated but more than that they showed me they can learn something new and they can be members of producers in theUAE community . Zayed Higher Organization are working very hard to provide convenience and comfort for the students to feel them they are in there home.

In the first day in the ZHO ( Zayed Higher Organization ) , the staff introduce us about the organization and they showed us all the workshops that handicaps can join then they separate our group each student in department  . I joined the carpentry section I saw a lot of handicaps are working some of them they have the skills other they need time to learn and I helped them to get some work done the staff and student have break between 10.30 to 11.00 am , I feel the student need some motivation and encouragement from the instructor so they can be members of producers in the community , they recommend us to come with flexible clothes so we can easily work with handicaps and also because it is workshop and easily get dirt on the cloths ,  I enjoined to be volunteer in this organization. and I would like to get more experience because dealing with handicaps is not something easy , it needs patient and team work with the handicaps so they can collaborate with the instructor so am very excited to volunteer in Zayed Higher Organization and I will give more of my time to this organization.

Giving each of those people their needs and cover any shortfalls they have, is will be our purpose to make them satisfied about their life. People deserve that. We will try actually to invent methods which can benefit this organization as well as possible.

To be successful must important thing will be the obligation. We have to obligate about ZHO rules, coming on time, trying to invent new successful things always, giving ideas, trying to be benevolent by being patient, be positive.

Actually we have to initiate always to help people who joined ZHO and deal with them normally which is most important thing and cooperate with them in their activities for supporting their trust.

  

7.    What are the specific Benefits for the participants? (Both volunteers and recipients)

Absolutely this will increase satisfaction about our self situation. We believe this activity will be really successful for us which will improve our communicating skills either with old people or with kids or with people who are in special needs position. Moreover how to use them to benefit or culture this thing actually we will try to get it also.   

8.   Any potential problems you see arising??

Any new challenge people face it in first time like a problem. There is the probability of mistakes to happen but we will try to prevent those mistake as much as possible while if the problem happens which possible we have to learn about our mistakes. The challenge will be how to achieve their needs without making problems, this actually which we are looking for.

2.                   Who are the target audience, and why?

                   All ages are involved in this project program but they focus on the children's.

3.                   What activities would your project involve?

            Provide jobs to people in kosovo and shelter ,and build schools and provide free food for the kosovian people. 

4.                   Who would be volunteering? Why?

                the expert people for example teachers ,engineers and volunteers..etc all this expert        peopl have already skills to serve the kosovian unlike the people don't have .

5.                   What are the benefits your project could bring to the target audience?
             Actually the benefit will be for most of people because they will be satisfied about the additional help for them also for their children, which will achieve a great and balanced future for them.

6.                   How would you look into launching your project with reference to the relevant authorities in the UAE and in the country you have targeted?
            That can be achieved in Schools, Sport clubs,  , and other authorities in our country which can spend effort for helping people; or in any other county like in the case that we have which is about Kosovo.

7.                   What problems do you think you might come across and how would you try to get around them?

             We may have problems with the money to buy the equipment for sick people and some stuff for the children and also maybe we have a problem with place for the volunteers and we can solve that if some important people helped us.

What is Takatof?

Takatof Programme for Social Volunteering is a nationwide volunteering initiative in the United Arab Emirates. It is one of the principal initiatives of the Emirates Foundation, and it helps the emiraties to improve their skills  

Which year did start? And who started it? 
a charitable organisation established in 2005 in the UAE under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Takatof was launched in Abu Dhabi in April 2007 with an inaugural school renovation event.
